There are as many if not more unscrupulous sellers as there are buyers.
Ebay states that "Brand New" entails still sealed and packaged as from the manufacturer. How many statue sellers list statues as Brand New.. then the description states "Opened for inspection" or "Displayed in a smoke free home"
Ebay and Paypal (especially when they were one and the same) are much harsher on Sellers using that description because that creates an expectation the condition and experience will be the same as if bought at retail. I have only sold a couple sealed statues but when I did I listed them as Used Pre-Owned and in the description state they were unopened by me and how I came to own the statue (2nd hand etc.).
Always... This isn't an action figure...MOC doesn't apply here. I've had "brand new/sealed" statues show up with dust/damage showing they were previously displayed... Always verify the condition of the item you're selling. If not for the buyer than to better protect yourself from having to refund or getting ripped off.
The number of the statue doesn't usually matter...
