It really looks like the lightning, and I've seen bad lighting do terrible things to a piece that is otherwise fantastic.
I wouldn't worry yet, until you see an unboxing video with proper equipment and if it STILL looks like that (or get it in hand, of course) then there's a big problem. Those pics for sure look bad but it seems the flash is cranked waaayyyyyyy up to me.

I don't think so. Flash causes sharp shadow edges. This looks more like bright ambient room lighting, or daylight/window light.
