I watched ONE of those shows (Pawn Stars), and I haven't since; the episode I watched, some guy sold them a journal that was verified to have belonged to Isaac Newton for $7,000. $7,000?! He questioned their offer, and brought up that he could take it to Tiffany's/Southeby's and get ten times that amount (uh.. I'd say 100 times that amount
), and they "convinced" him as to why that was a "bad idea".
People that buy into their bs are sheep, but those guys, on that show at least, are f#cking crooks. Yes, I get it that you have to buy for less than you'd sell it to make a profit, but $7,000?!
Master manipulators.
I attend/bid in live/estate/etc auctions every so often, so I prefer the show where the guy runs an auction house (I forget what it's called).
