I also forgot to add that the Shao Kahn 1:2 bust is undergoing a couple minute changes before they can begin paint master.
My guess is that they are making the change to the helmet of Shao Kahn so that it can have that curvature like it does in the reference pics.
According to SYCO website, the paintmaster of both Shao Kahn 1:2 bust and Rain 18" should be completed in about 4 weeks from today, and the expected release date for both is
1)Shao Kahn 1:2 bust = May/June 2012
2)Rain 18" PF = August/September 2012

Yeah I saw those pics earlier. The first thing I thought was that his torso is disproportionate (I hope I spelled that right!) to his waist and below. He just seems a tad too buffed...? Regardless it's gonna be cool to see this thing finalized.

And to think he had boobs earlier as well! What was it? A B cup? I mean then it would have been even worse. 
It just seems to me that his upper body is a bit too big. You can see what I mean especially well perhaps in the third and fifth pics you posted. I may be seeing it wrongly though.

Yeah, Rain does look a little buffed up. The way I'm seeing it is it looks like his legs are too short? He's supposed to be tall imo.
Other than that, I like the pose and the detail!

All of you must not be big MK fans like me then! Looking at the reference pictures, Rain is a might buff ninja! Look at his wings and chest and then tell me he is too buff and thick.
Once again, if some think Rain is too this or too that, take it up with Netherrealm. And this was directly approved by them so....yeah.

Can't make final judgements until the finished paint master is done with him standing on his swirling clear resin with blue tinted water base. I think once the final product is revealed, he'll be a highly coveted MK collectible!
