Great interview.

Why is it a problem to post more of Tim Bruckner's work?

Nice interview Charles. I have always considered Tim to be in the top three. Love the guys work and he comes across as one hell of a guy. His WW v Serpents is one of my absolute favourite pieces.

A fun and insightful read about what goes on at the Art Farm! Nicely done, guys.

Great Interview Charles!

I love Tim's exectution and style - really cool to read about his process and thoughts...

BTW- I was wondering what clay Tim uses for his roughs? Is the wax he mentions Azbro (it looks like it)?

I also love how he handles the paint applications... I can tell his work a mile away. Really fantastic subtelty...

Again fantastic interview to both!

GREAT interview.
Though I've only chatted with Tim a few times (bugging him about wax, years ago-Thanks again, Tim!), he was very kind, eloquent and helpful. A very cool, down to earth guy, whose versatility and skill is certainly top-notch. To say the LEAST. And he's certainly a professional after whom one could/should model one's self.
BTW-I LOVE that pirate piece! Killer work, Tim.
I look forward to your future work.

Thanks for the many kinds words. I use either Chavant medium or hard NSP for roughing out, depending on the size of the peice. The wax I use is a combination of several different kinds and is more like a wax-clay than Azbro. It can be softened with a heat lamp to lay up small pieces, is very wax-pen friendly and doesn't require an armature. It finishes nicely. If put in the freezer for a short time, can he sanded and etched for fine crisp detail.

For waste molds I use 1/2" cubes of old molds and just enough new RTV to fill.

Thanks Tim!

I apreciate your sharing your process with me... I use a similar process except I finish with an Azbro type wax. I'll have to try your formula one day... sounds cool.

Sincerely,
Claudio

One of my favorite interviews by one of my favorite sculptors.

I think its interesting how Tim said the Pin-up art would probably work for comic statues eventually. It looks as he was right, as Adam Hughes as a DC and Marvel line of women in pin-up style.
