I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

it's a marketing strategy, ss puts some silly price to get everyone all rallied up. By comparison the reissue 1/4 plastic toy now looks very cheap at $380, so lemmings will go buy that up.

Then once the 1/4 is done, they will do some discount and cut this 20" statue to $1000 or something, and all the lemmings will think it's such a bargain / good deal and gobble it up.

You guys are being played like a fiddle by some of the best marketers in the biz.

At this price point Sideshow's LSF R2 needs to be pretty damn impressive and I just don't see that, nor do I believe this ridiculous price tag is because of the licensing fees.I use to buy there earlier LSF's with positive outcomes...but after the last few,and seeing what CM/ECC does for similar price tags (granted its not SW) over the last year or two,i could no longer accept this type of lazy overpriced craftsmanship

At that price i'd atleast expect the R2's head to be made from metal, move automatically and make some noise when spoken to ;D
+ as a bonus, project a DVD or Blu-ray onto the nearest wall

If I was interested in getting an R2D2/C3P0 combo, should I get the Legacy set or the PF's?

Also, if they ever did a BB8 on a matching base, do we assume the chances are higher for that to happen in the PF scale?

Thanks.

That would kind of suck if R2-D2 is a hollow plastic shell...
