MOTU Trap Jaw FS Review

Har, har, har! Alright! Finally! Stupendously! Surreptitiously! Irrevocably! The single greatest statue of my entire collection! I will even go so far as to say that Trap Jaw, done by none other than The Four Horsemen, released by NECA, is one of the top 5 statues I have ever seen produced with my own eyes!!! Ok, ok, ok, listen up!

1)Paint Job: Simply put--the most detailed and precise paint job I have ever
seen on a mainstream statue (from the rust on his feet and
mouth and belt to the detailed paints of all the mechanical
innards of his arm, to the detailed spare parts on the base.

2)Sculpt: If not the most captivating and detailed sculpt in the business, it
sure as hell is one of the best in the whole statue business (that
includes anything done by Hard Hero, BD, Sideshow, MR, DST,
Attakus, CS Moore, and anything else). This is the single best
representation of a comic/cartoon character ever done! Bar none!
And it should be as it is done by the guys that redesigned the
original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! And I mean it is
exactly like the redesigned toys and black and white drawings down
to the tee! It doesn't get better than this!

3)Character Design: Now I can see where some people will disagree with me
on this point, but I have always felt that the whole
MOTU had interesting character designs. When The
Four Horsemen redesigned them, they became some of
the most interesting and striking character designs I've
ever seen. There is no denying that Trap Jaw is one of
the dopest characters ever, from his interchangeable
weapons and arms, to his well designed face.

4)Scale: Trap Jaw is in perfect scale with the rest of the statues in the line
done so far. He stands at a nice 15". As you can see from the pics I
included, he is taller than both the Hulk from HH, and the Wolverine
Comiquette from Sideshow. For the money ($160-$215, depending
where you buy it from), I have gotten the most pleasure from this
one statue purchase. No other statue in my collection, with the
exception of the other MOTU statues, followed closely by anything
Seth Vandable has done for Hard Hero, has given me greater joy.

This is my favorite statue currently! I just wanted to share the pictures and information for those that do collect these awesome detailed statues and are fans of the whole Masters of the Universe world! Enjoy!

There are more pictures to come!!!

More pics as promised. Sorry for the dull frontal pic of Trap Jaw!

Two more pics to show the detail of the mechanical arm and side perspective.

Here are the last two pictures of this awesome statue!

That's all folks!!! Can't wait for the new He-man which is next! It is a totally new sculpt than the one done at the SDCC a couple years ago! Hopefully after He-Man, Beastman or Man-at-Arms.

Do you really like this statue?

Just kidding, it looks really good and brings back memories of a cartoon I used to watch all the time

Nice review Loric. This is indeed one sweet looking statue. If I gave a rat's a$$ about the character, I'd be all over it. Congrats! Glad your'e so happy with it.

Trapjaw was a great villain. My brother had all the He-Man toys from way back. Great statue too!!
