Had anybody seen or heard about them adding chains to this statue before it starting shipping? Bc usually some pics or hints are on social media. I’m just so annoyed at this totally unnecessary change.

Yeah this is my question too? I am completely blind sided by this. Like I said there were no chains at STGCC. So between then and now I know of no communication about this addition. Doesn't mean there wasn't one but I haven't been able to find it.

There wasn't. This is my biggeest annoyance with XM. They do this kinda BS and then either don't communicate it at all, or they make changes and throw it in a promo pic and call that sufficient notification that what you're getting will be different than what was shown at conventions.
