Payman teased these on Facebook.

I love mermaids but I'm not feeling this. Sure, it's early in development but unless the concept is entirely scrapped, nothing is going to save it. A shame really because I was looking forward to the day ARH tackled a mermaid.

I'm guessing the timing of this tease was intended to ride the wave of the Death's Siren hype but this doesn't even begin to compare.

Maybe I'm being a little too harsh but it's how I truly feel. I'm not one of those collectors with a hidden hatred towards ARH.

Is there a specific reason you don't like it? I think it has promise to be decent, but the concept is uninspired when compared against Sideshow's original.

A few reasons actually.

Starting with the base. It's very generic. A cone shaped coral formation, a patch of seaweed, a fish and a turtle. No creativity whatsoever. No artistic flair. Just something unnecessarily telling us they're in the ocean.

Twin mermaids is like owning 2 of the same statue. Something I don't and never will do. Their design is also, like the base, uncreative. The way the body flows into the tail does not look believable. It's as though they're wearing costumed tails.

Now the pose. I don't find it very alluring. It's like they're holding their tits solely for the sake of holding their tits. There's no playful innocence or gracefulness. It feels like an adult magazine shoot.

Finally, there's no feeling of movement. No flowing ocean current or floatiness. It's all very static.

This is why I am not a fan of arh. Way too over sexualized. That's nearing x-rated and I think looks extremely tacky compared to sideshows siren.

Valid points. Because it's still early, the pose and flow could/should be improved. I agree that it's bland artistically, and is trying too hard to be sexy.

Looks alright, would have to see what it looks like painted though. This statue will live or die based on the quality of the painting especially for the tails.

two mermaids means twice the price. It still early, work could use some improvement. But as somebody said above I think they want to ride the death sirens Interest.I think ARH should stick to the Warriors/Barbarians/Gods/Creatures stuff.
