The Asgardians vs The Sinestro Corps: In Retrospect

Now that the classic Sinestro Corps War has been established as perhaps the greatest GL story ever told, and now that theyve been brought down by the GL Corps...who ya got now?

I'd have to say the Sinestro Corps is the single most powerful group of villains every under one organization.

Prominent members

Anti-Monitor and heralds

Anti-Monitor: Responsible for the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Anti-Monitor is an almost infinitely powerful threat. Returning in the wake of the events of Infinite Crisis and 52, he allies with Sinestro to form the Sinestro Corps.
Cyborg-Superman (Hank Henshaw): The man-machine hybrid who destroyed Coast City, and eventual Grandmaster of the Manhunters.
Parallax: The Green Lantern Corps' "yellow impurity" who was responsible for Hal Jordan's fall from grace. Parallax possessed Kyle Rayner after the Ion entity was expunged from him by Sinestro.
Sinestro: Leader and namesake of the Sinestro Corps.
Superman-Prime: A deranged and immature version of Superman from the destroyed Earth Prime.

Ring bearers

Like the Green Lantern Corps, the Sinestro Corps has 7200 ring bearers, two for each of the 3600 sectors of space.

Amon Sur of Sector 2814: Son of deceased Green Lantern Abin Sur. The ring had previously tried to recruit Batman as the Corps member for this sector, and following Amon Sur's death, his ring sought out the Scarecrow as its new bearer, but it was destroyed by the Guardians.
Arkillo of Sector 674: Drill sergeant and carnivore. One of the Sinestro Corps' first recruits. Described by Geoff Johns as the "Kilowog of the Sinestro Corps."
Bedovian of Sector 3: a hermit crab-like cannibalistic sniper who can kill from three space sectors away. He was located and injured by John Stewart.
Borialosaurus of Sector 3001: The oldest member of the Sinestro Corps and one of the only surviving members of a race of carnivorous sea animals that were hunted down after killing dozens of Guardians of the Universe.
Braach of Sector 3064: A Selachian who feeds on the endangered space dolphins, attracting the attention of space dolphin lover Lobo.
Despotellis of Sector 119: Sentient virus that kills from within, responsible for the death of 85% of space sector 119 in addition to Kyle Rayner's mother.[23] Despotellis was defeated by Leezle Pon, a Green Lantern Smallpox Virus. He was last heard of being imprisoned on Oa.
Duel Eknham of the planet Siamgemi: A siamese-twin like being with two faces and personalities. One side wishes to kill and maim in the most gruesome ways possible, while the other prefers more sophisticated methods of murder. The Sinestro Corps Ring places itself on the hand of the violent side. The two are forced to serve Mongul in Green Lantern Corps #23. Annoyed with their constant bickering, Mongul uses his ring to separate the two. The violent side is killed by Guy Gardner, and the other side is torn apart by the other Lanterns' attack.
Enkafos of Sector 2981: Coordinates the Sinestro Corps attack on Mogo and was ultimately killed by Sodam Yat. Ethan Van Sciver described Enkarfos as an analogue to the Green Lantern Corps' Salaak.[24]
Fatality of Sector 1313: Longtime enemy of the Green Lantern Corps. Fatality is captured by Zamarons using experiment.[25]
Feena Sik of Sector 2897: An artist whose creations come to life and slaughter any living thing.[22]
Gleen of Sector 312: Gleen is one of the Krolotean gremlins responsible for the transformations of Hector Hammond, Black Hand, and the Shark, and has tampered with the evolutionary patterns of over a thousand species. Amongst his species, Gleen is considered the cruelest and most twisted.[22]
Haasp the Hunter of Sector 3492: A hunter of rare and exotic animals throughout the universe, Haasp is brother to Green Lantern Harvid, and has dubbed him his next big hunt.[22]
Karu-Sil of Sector 2815: Savage raised by animals. Karu-Sil is captured by Zamarons using experiment.[25]
Kiriazis of Sector 1771: A Sinestro Corps member who "blinds and tortures, splintering the Ring's beams with her prisms." She was later said to be able to use her spider-like physiology to metabolize the ring's energy and produce spider web out of it. Kiriazis is captured by Zamarons using experiment.[25]
Kretch of Sector 3545: A demonic being from the planet Soh who destroys planets in a blaze of hellfire.[22]
Kryb of Sector 3599: A hag who kills Green Lanterns who are parents and stores their children in a cage growing out of her back.
Lyssa Drak of Sector 3500: Keeper of the Book of Parallax.
Low of Sector 3308: A Sinestro Corps member who "consumes his enemies' bones while they still breathe." Low is considered to be the most dangerous parasite in the universe. He can suck the blood of his enemies in a matter of seconds, he then lays his eggs inside their shell.[22]
Mongul of Debstam IV, Sector 2811: Son of a long time foe of Superman. After the end of the war, he finds a downed Sinestro Corps member and breaks his neck, taking his ring for himself.[26] Defeated by the Lantern Bzzd when the he attacks him from within, flying out through his eye. Mongul is then thrown to the planet of the Black Mercys, where Mother Mercy intends touse his body as food for her children.[27] He later breaks free, and escapes the planet.[28]
Moose of Sector 3333: The creature called Moose resembles an Earth elephant, with tusks on either end of its body, but not attached to a discernable head or heads. Its real name unpronounceable, the Sinestro Corps ring chose “Moose” as the closest approximation. Moose is a Trogkian mammoth, once part of a massive pack. Their stampedes would terrorize the primitive world of Trogk. The story behind Moose’s induction, and the fate of his pack, has yet to be revealed.[29]
Murr the Melting Man of Sector 3490: Formerely scientist Ausiin Snow, a horrible accident transformed him into a mindless thing that melts anything it touches, similar to Preston Payne. When he is around other members of the Corps, they are sure to keep their force fields up.[22]
Peacemaker of Sector 2 (the home sector of the Reach): Selected from Earth to join the Sinestro Corps, the alien Reach place a beetle scarab in his spine to make him a joint agent with the intention of assassinating Jaime Reyes, the Blue Beetle.[30]
The Quintet, sector unknown: Five siblings, whose species cannot be identified by the Green lantern's rings. They attacked the families of Green Lanterns, raining the eyes of their victims over Oa. Four of them were brought in by the Green Lanterns, except for one of the female siblings, who killed herself to avoid capture.[19]
Ranx the Sentient City of Sector 3272: A sentient city that is prophesied to kill Mogo.[10]
Romat-Ru of Sector 2813: Romat-Ru is a Xudarian, and is considered one of the vilest creatures in the galaxy. Arrested on a minor charge, when police investigated his home they found the remains of over a thousand children.[22]
Scivor of Sector 3106: Scivor has posed as one of the Torture Gods of Aplic-Toh, and has influenced thousands to kill in his name across his sector.[22]
Seer Ruggle of Sector 2700: Seer is the Bomb Mistress of Rorc, and is responsible for the construction of six blink bombs throughout the universe, one of which she gave to the Children of the White Lobe to destroy Mogo.[22]
Sirket of Sector 1110: An insect that lives in the space between dimensions.[22]
Slushh of Sector 3376: Slushh is a polymorphic acidic globular being who spent millions of years trapped by the warlords of Prisun at the bottom of a red oil sea. On the outside, he is a viscous shell, but his insides are composed of a corrosive fluid that liquefies flesh instantly.[22]
Smithwick of Sector 1418: Smithwick comes from the same planet as Salakk. A believer in anarchy and chaos, he has vowed to kill Salakk for believing in reason and order.[22]
Stanch of Sector 3560: On the planet Guush, the once benevolent Stanch was the only one of his species to survive its polluted atmosphere, but his survival is due to his mutation into a carnivorous, winged creature.[22]
Starro: an alien parasite that creates copies of itself which take possession of sentient organisms and take control of their minds.
Tekik of Sector 3281: A sentient robot which has created a "fear program".[22]
Yellow Lantern of Sector 1284 (an anagram of Sector 2814): A citizen of Bizarro World who is selected as a member of the Sinestro Corps. He ignores the ring's commands until the ring overrides his free will and takes him to the battle field.[31] Made a cameo in Green Lantern #25. This ring bearer is actually a Bizarro-version of Hal Jordan.[32]

Several characters have been shown in preview art and mentioned by creators Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, but have yet to appear. Ethan van Sciver has also stated that there will be a 'Frankenstein'-inspired member who is two aliens cut in half and sewn together (with each one bearing a power ring, so that they are two bodies acting as one), and "Strange Little Robots".[20] The "'Frankenstein'-inspired member" made a small appearance in the Sinestro Corps Special, appearing behind Sinestro.

The only way the Asgardians have a chance is if their side includes all the races of the Nine Worlds (except for Midgard) and not just the "gods".

Add the Giants, Dwarves, Elves and Demons and they may just be enough of them to make it a good fight.

even then i don't think so, i mean technicly the Monitor alone could wipe them all out, if not him the hearlds alone should be able to handle most of Asgard, and thats not even including the couple thousand ring bearers

Surtur is very powerful.

He may give the Anti-Monitor more trouble than you might expect.
