Given the huge some of moneys it brings, San Diego is very likely to do something to hang onto it.

Personally since it's in my backyard, I won't follow it if it moves. But it would create a vacuum that an actual comic con could fill.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

...maybe split up the tickets even more? Example, Ticket/Pass B Thurs. This would give you access to one hall for the media type stuff (video games, movies) and Ticket A Thurs would be another hall for the comics, figures, art.

If they could some how split those two into two different buildings, that would help. So many tickets for A and so many tickets for B. I dunno.

Vegas has nothing the size of the convention center in SD. BUT, alot of those teeny boopers...you know, the ones who go for twilight,WB,video games,anime... probably wouldn't go to vegas. BUT hollywood would complain it's too far, and certian people would complain it's not 'family oriented', so there goes that idea.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

are you serious?!?
vegas has one of the biggest convention centers in the world. it's about 5 times bigger than the san diego convention center. it could house so much more than most places. on top of that, all the hotels and accomodations the city offers is more than what SD can do. sure it's not "family oriented" as most believe, but we don't want those twilight/harry potter boppers running up and down the strip in the first place as there is a curfew enforced for those under the age to be on the strip after hours without a parental guardian.

It isn't likely to leave San Diego anytime soon.
Years and years and that is if the city never does an expansion for the convention center.

i do not that would happen. to many distractions (gambling) and that would reduce revenue to vendors at the con itself.

if It moved I tihnk they would go to Anahiem first and try to use the fact it would be near to disney to pull more families in.

San diego though finally figured out this past summer just how much this beast brings to the area every year and cannot afford to loose that money.

i still remember when there was only about 100 folks on preview night back in the late 80's.
