Question Broken arm with wire/rod inside, how to fix properly

One of my precious statues has a broken arm, but a wire / messing rod inside is still holding it together. The (1/4 scale) arm is slender but straight and the wire runs through the whole arm, it has cracked 360 degrees at the elbow but I can't see the wire.

I already bought some zap-a-gap and tamiya putty..
What would be the best way to fix this properly? Is there a way to get the forearm off without pulverizing/crumbling it?? Bcs the small gap/crack doesn't let me apply glue between it..

How would you do this? Thanks in advance

Drill out the crack, so you can get the glue deeper in the crack. Once the glue has hardened, then putty, sand and paint.

There is no need to remove the arm. The wire is keeping everything in alignment.

Removing the sharp (outer) edges of the crack with a pointy dremel tool and filling it as best as possible, would be best/good enough?

Or would be drilling one small hole (e.g. under an angle of 45degrees) towards inner core of crack (close to wire) for glue applying purpose also a common used option?

You may need to do both options. First drill towards the center and glue. This will make the area solid. Then widening the outer area with the dremil so you can apply enough putty to fill the crack. Then sand and paint.

I did a repair like that a few months ago. Here is the like for that statue.

Thumbs up

That DD had a nasty crack.. Mine is an average single 360 crack, but it is a full statue weight supporting arm.
OK mr. B thanks for the info, I've never done any puttying but will take a serious shot at it..
