No. Please no. I don't want variants. It was bad enough with the Ryu and Chun variants but at least they played the theme song and came with full background cards.
Variants will no doubt come. As it is, characters can only be paired with certain characters. The roster facing right, will never be able to face off against each other. So I can totally see them in flipped positions as a variant. My only hope is that in doing so, it's a whole new pose as well. Each character has at least a couple of super moves, so it'd make sense to use them.
Super moves is another reason to create variants. But as mentioned above. If they do them, I hope they're at least facing them in the opposite direction to give us options when displaying them.
Then yes...there are color variations. Player 1 or player 2 colors.
This could get expensive. Best case scenario is that they make 1 variation of the character faced in the opposite direction, using a different super move, and in their player 2 color.
Oh and there's still the Mega Ryu and Ken that they hinted to a while back.
