The Suicide Squad. A solid 8/10. Enjoyed the hell out of it.

Monster Hunter - Special effects better than expected. Ron Perlman wasted. The language obstacle/resolution had my eyes rolling. Pretty much the standard Anderson/Jovovich film we’ve come to expect. I did laugh during what had to be an intended homage to the best scene from, “Deep Blue Sea.” With known expectations - 6/10.

WW84 - Yikes. I could only manage 30 minutes. Maybe it got better, but I hated everything during that half hour - the direction, cinematography, cheesiness, dialogue, wonky special effects, characterization. Full disclosure, I’m a Zach Snyder fan, and I far prefer his take on WW than Jenkins’. Does it get better? 0/10.

Looking forward to my weekend trifecta of Black Widow, Suicide Squad and FF9 (or Jungle Cruise).

Mandy

Had no idea it was the psychedelic horror I needed in my life.

Suicide Squad 8/10 sooooooo much better than the first one. Gunn is a master at what he does. Few surprises, good stuff!

Yeah, I keep thinking on it, and quite like it. I just wish the whole movie was just a bit more consistent. The first half had great, surreal, psychedelic atmosphere, and the second was tilted more towards the revenge/action.

Not necessarily a fault of the movie, it's just when I get the vibe I like, I want it throughout. Drive - completely different type of movie, but same feeling. I liked the first half's atmosphere - slow, little dialog, good music...then it cranks up the action.

Two movies I still love though.

Guardians of the Galaxy. 10/10. After watching suicide Squad, had to watch the first Guardians again. I think it is actually my favorite Marvelmovie. It has action, humor, the feels, Marvel stuff throughout.
