Within the umbrella of Marvel, humor obviously has given the edge to GotG2, as opposed to the Marvel films below that list. People LOVE to laugh and will come back for more viewings.

And I DO get what you're saying. This, again, is understanding the other person's opinion even if you don't share it. I understand completely how you read nbr's emoticon. I didn't read it the same way. I understand completely that you loved GotG 2 and Alien: Covenant. I didn't. Different strokes for different folks. That's all I've been saying this whole time in both threads.

I know not everyone here is a fan, but for me the original GotG for had a great balance of story, humor and heart. GotG V2 was a mess narratively and seemed more concerned with setting up the next joke than taking us on an actual adventure. I'm still struggling to understand the purpose of the V2. Utterly forgettable entry into the MCU IMO.

I thought there was enough story there. The narrative was a little here and there at times, but it was a fun ride and I think that was the key motivator behind the movie. I seem to be less critical than some with these (comic) movies, but I'm not sure what people are looking for with this one...GOTG has, to me, taken on the mantle of the 'rock n' roll' franchise, if you will, for the MCU. Just sit back and enjoy.
