Haven't watched it yet because it's not out yet, but I'm getting hyped about the Lord of the Rings show from Amazon. Hope those rumors about a female Gandalf aren't true.

wut female Gandalf? I read Ian McKellan wants to return as Gandalf, if they pass on the opportunity to have him back im not even going to bother with this show, how stupid could they be

Swamp Thing S1 8/10 Best of the direct WB series thus far....you can see James Wan's influence on this at times...too bad it was cancelled...

I don’t understand why they would do that. If you want to showcase a strong female, use Galadriel or Arwen.

But if done right, I’m very much in on a LOTR show.

Well, just rumor right now. I believe the show will be set in the "first age" of Middle Earth. If that's the case then I don't think Gandalf is even around. I could be wrong on both counts though.

Deadwood - Season 3

So many great things and a few question marks for this season. Like what happened to the Earps? I thought their introduction would lead to a bigger confrontation in or near the finale, but they disappeared midway. And I anticipated Langrishe's theatre troop to factor more into the overarching story involving George Hearst. Speaking of whom, similar to Boardwalk Empire, when historical figures are featured as villains in period dramas like these, it's a bit of a spoiler knowing at the very least they won't lose in the end. Argh. Overall still a very good third season, but if the movie wasn't already queued in my digital media player, I'd say it was a frustrating finale with all the open-ended plots. 8/10
