We have to adapt to the new reality, or stop collecting.

2019 was Rogue only, and so far Asajj is the only one for 2020. This compared to 4-6 a year before.

The other change is that I now collect pieces individually now rather than as part of a series.

I'm actually saving money since at that price I am far more picky, so I end up with spending way less than before.

I guess the good thing is that it will take years before I run out of space now at this pace.

I have no reason to buy it from SSC right now.
I will wait for a better deal.
If not I will grab it from another spot and save on shipping with better packaging.

I think SS is catering to a new breed of collector who doesn't buy as much and therefore doesn't mind taking a loss to have it now. I will patiently wait : )
I agree. Let those people take the loss and buy later for a bargain price, and free shipping.

Better get your PO now, the demand is going to be crazy with an ES of 6,000, you know its going to sell out fast.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

There are alot of benefits from ordering early though. Payment plans for those who can't drop the whole amount at once, you get the exclusive portrait which we seen could really boost value if you decide to sell later. You don't have to worry about sketchy sellers on ebay or the FB groups. And if something is wrong with the statue or arrives broken, Sideshow has the best customer service in the business. For me I would take peace of mind over saving $100 bucks. I had transactions go wrong so I'm just speaking on personal experience.

I scored a new Green Arrow (reg) for $480 shipped and a new Supergirl PF (reg) for $400 shipped on an eBay auction... If either of them arrives broken eBay & PayPal pretty much guarantee you get your money back, so I'm not worried...

I am off the grid with these new releases. I will only invest on the Angelus or a better Psylocke statue... I am quite happy with my current collection already. Really need to be more selective and disciplined.

I prefer Ebay, Forum and FB deals lately. The reason is, that the collectors already inspected the collectibles and had to deal with the collectible company already to get the replacements, in case there is something wrong with it I can always open a paypal claim. But I never had to till now, at least not for collectibles, only for blu ray steelbooks that came damaged and paypal always covered me.

I prefer dealing with SS. I get the items I want, when they’re released, no concern for aftermarket prices or hassle. I like the reward point system as well. Adds up to a “free” statue every now and then.

With some of their recent deals I’ve also gotten free shipping, discounts, and free items (Infinity Gauntlet, books, etc.) Despite a few small issues their customer service is top notch as well.

A lot of people complain about the higher prices but I’ll gladly take them in exchange for what I consider to be a dramatic improvement in sculpt and paint quality. To each their own.
