I shave it when I have a lot of voice-acting gigs, and when I was teaching.. but in college and at the moment I'm lettin' it go "Grizzly Adams" on me.. though I keep shaving it for weddings we're attending/taking part in this summer.

Is Gateway considered a hero??

Apparently he's the "Australian Batman" (one of the Batman wannabes that popped up in the 50s), and was briefly revived in a Batman arc by Grant Morrison back in 2007.

So they can hear themselves.... you're hearing yourself through the engineer's equipment in the headphone, as well as the engineer, the producer, and the background music.. and whoever else is in the booth performing with you, if there's more than one person.

I keep one headphone on and one off, so I'm not just hearing myself "unnaturally" through the equipment, but I'm hearing myself naturally also.. with the uncovered ear. People sometimes also cover an ear if they're near someone that might pull them out of character, etc etc... numerous reasons.

I do it so that I can hear myself naturally, though. Some people have both headphones on, but.. to me, that invites re-takes.
