When Heritage and Comiclink previewed their November/December auctions I spied about 10 pieces of art that peaked my interest. I turned to ebay to raise funds to go after a few of the pieces. My strategy still is to pick a value for a piece of art and to try not to go over that amount. The strategy causes me to miss out on a fair number of pieces, but as we know there is always more art to be had.
In the Heritage auction, I won the 2 JLA Pieces by Howard Porter. That still left me with bank to go after 1 or 2 of the pieces in comiclink. All but one of those pieces quickly got beyond what I thought was a fair value for the art. That left this piece standing. And there was no way I was going to get it based on what I was bidding and where I expected it to end. Well, fate, luck, karma, something was with me as I won. I chalk some of it up to a lot of people selling their McFarlane art to capitalize on the huge prices for recent cover sales. To that I say - excellent because I think it helped me land this page.
So without further ado, here it is - let me know your thoughts and comments.
One of the neat aspects of the page is the hidden Felix that McFarlane worked into every issue.
And with that, I am only waiting on my New Year's Eve purchase and to pick up my Rags commission and 2013 will be in the books.
