Light inside sculpt?
Any ideas or recommendations for this. Possibly LED light? how would you make the switch etc and what type of LED? If done in a cast do you place it inside before casting etc.? Just thinking of future projects with glowing eyes, jewels, or other purposes.
Thanks,
-Jon

Well, LEDs last a long, long time - much longer than light bulbs and use very little current so you can power them on batteries. Haven't worked with electronics in 10 years so I can't help you more than that...

I have a kit that I had put together and has lights put in. The main part that lightes up was cast in clear resin, I bought a light setup here: http://www.voodoofx.com/
Very helpful and quick
As far as I have seen things must be clear cast or drilled in spots to let the light out and the inside cored out to accept lights and wiring. Hope that helps some.

Much thanks guys. Really is something I will research and probably attempt in the next few months. I get pretty eager to learn new things.

Here is the LED Tutorial from LSDiodes. It shows several methods of wiring up LEDs, the wiring is pretty simple I've used them on a few projects. They are also a good place to get small quantities at decent prices.

another fun thing to do is use a lava lamp effect to simulate explosions or energy fields.
