There’s 6 PFs that cost more than this Bane. There’s significantly more PFs that cost more than Silver Surfer. So it can’t be price. Who knows though. Just makes no sense.

Agreed. I don’t know. I want to say after second thought maybe intricacy of the base and the piece overall? Then another thought is maybe it’s character popularity? Examples off the top of my head are 3 of their more recent pieces including this Bane, the recent Silver Surfer reveal and Magneto? But as you said it makes no sense.

The OG Bane’s base is more intricate than the Bane Maquette... And was more expensive.

The decision to label something a maquette seems quite arbitrary. It's probably a marketing decision rather than anything based on artistic or practical guidelines.

Never liked the pose of that Joker especially the arms and hands. Don’t really care for anything that’s come since either. Hopefully one day there will be one that I can agree with.
