Why would the Russo brothers who have had great success with their Captain America films suddenly change their directorial style and make Infinity War an action comedy?

Oh, maybe bowing to Disney corporate pressure?

The two Cap films are my favorites among what Marvel Studios has produced this far. I agree with what I infer from your post, that they’ve hit the magic formula with Marvel movie audiences and should replicate their success with a grave and dark story like Infinity War. I so hope this is what happens.

Infinity Wars will have a darker tone to it for sure. I mean I can't guarantee it but I have a strong gut feeling. And not dark like Se7en but closer to Winter Soldier.

I see no reason for corporate pressure from Disney.

Disney allowed SW to go alllll dark with Rogue One. That fan base overlaps a lot with Marvel.

SO this gives me great hope that Disney will leave the Russo Bros alone to make a solid, more somber Infinity War.

The real question is -- who's writing the bulk of IW? Without a decent script there is only so much that can be done.

I hope you’re right, and that the success of Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor Ragnarok doesn’t cause them to be stupid and exert this kind of pressure on the Russo’s.

I finally saw this, it should have been called Thor: The Comedy for the first half. Did not enjoy it. Luckily it picked up and the last half was fun. Loved hearing the part 1 theme at the end too. Classic moment. New theme was also good, not the rock song but the score.

Watching this with the wife as she went to see infinity war with me and this helps her understand a few things. But boy is this a stinker imo.
