These don't even qualify as bad pictures or pictures of the statue itself. It's in the box with a plastic bag over the majority of it camera phone closeups.
So I'm not waiting for a professional photographer, I'm waiting for good pics of the statue all set up.

Nobody is saying they want "touched up" photos either, just photos taken in a more ideal setting comparable to the pics of the proto being used as a comparison. You know, fully setup, at the same angle, etc. You don't need to be a professional photographer to get that either.

 I don't hate GG, or any other producer. Like anyone who endures a 9-5 job, has a family, and needs to consider what they spend their cash on, I want value for money and customer satisfaction.
I want companies to feel privileged if I (or anyone else) spends our hard earned at their door, and not like they're doing me a favour. I want companies to consider what they bring to market and make good when they screw up. I want that, if I entrust a company with a portion of the final cost (deposit) and there are significant delays, that they are open with me and manage my expectations.
Tell me, as one collector to another, am I asking for too much?
