I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Political Correctness gone mad
Where my friend works, she is not allowed to ask for black coffee, she has to say "without milk".
Because a muslim works in her office, they cant call their Christmas party a Christmas party, they have to call it an end of year party.
Whats the world coming to!

that sucks big time! I think everyone is taking it to the extreme. If someone asks for "white coffee" I sure as heck don't get offended!!!

In my office I can't even even refer to some of my colleagues as "the girls" as a collective group. And yet when I go out for drinks, it's with "the guys" or "the boys."
And "ladies" in this department would be considered an inaccurate term.
What's left? "Female colleagues within the same organization of employment"?

Interesting. I didn't expect political correctness to be so international. I always thought that North America (the U.S. and Canada) was the most politically correct continent.
Personally, I try to make it a habit to ignore politically correct terms. I don't go out of my way to offend people but if a woman is offended by the term "lady", that's her problem, not mine. I'd also like to add that I work in a hospital where women outnumber men by a large margin and the environment is very politically correct (but apparently not as severe as some of your workplaces).
Political correctness is an insidious cancer on society (IMO). Don't let it spread.

Political correctness what utter crap...........
I remember once saying on this forum my favorite sports team was the All Blacks
When some one here was about to jump on me for saying that, when a nother member mentioned that it was my countries Rugby teams name.
I think we need to be a little sensitive of others religions, race, culture but its getting grazy
