Animated Cpt. Barbosa Cancelled?
ComicStatues never had it listed for pre-order, Action FX says Gentle Giant isn't going to release it at all, but GG still has this statue listed on their product page . . .
Was anyone else getting the Barbosa Maquette? Does anyone know if it's still available for order somewhere?

The POTC animated line has sadly been cancelled. Will and Barbosa will not be released.

I would be curious to know how many pre-orders they receive for these that made them feel like it wasn't worth it. I know the current 3 that are out go for below market value. Same for the LOTR maquettes and busts.
I wonder what other lines are open to being axed...

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Not yet, but I'm anxiously awaiting all the animated LOTR ones. The Twilight Ringwraith looks so freaking cool.

i think i'm prefering the LOTR maquettes to the SW ones i have, they just seem better made, some of the paint jobs on the clone wars maquettes just ain't that good, but the Gandalf and Saruman are fantastic, and yes the twilight wraith looks to be the best so far

Hello Gentle Giant Collectors,
We just wanted to take the time to clarify some information regarding our Animated Pirates of the Caribbean Maquette line. Although we announced the cancellation of distributor orders for Will Turner and Captain Barbossa Maquettes at the beginning of this week, we are still producing the 2 items. These items will be available directly through Gentle Giant and limited to 1,000 pcs world wide. They will be available to purchase through our website www.gentlegiantltd.com in spring of 2008, and are currently still available to pre-order. We have not cancelled preorders previously placed through the website. You must be logged into your account to see the pre-order.
Thanks,
Gentle Giant Ltd.
