Axis
Okay, I bought the first issue and will not buy the rest. These "event" series have been getting progressively worse since Fear Itself. At lease Original Sin started off strong even though it tanked. This one tanks from the start.

I didn't hate it but since this is replacing Uncanny Avengers for the duration I'll be getting it.

Haven't picked up a Marvel event issue since AvsX (both it and Fear Itself were abysmal IMO). No idea when I'll be jumping up on their event train again but it doesn't look like I'm missing out on too much.

I was surprised at how much I disliked the first issue given how much I enjoy Uncanny Avengers. Something went sour in the transition from monthly series to event comic.

allot of one liners and smart ass remarks in this issue.
that and I have never been on board with the whole stealing Prof X brain and bonding it with your own will give you telepathic powers.

I agree that Original Sin started off well - really crapped the bed in the end though... I didn't even bother picking up Axis. It sounded interesting - but not interesting enough

That's my feeling. Uncanny Avengers was a consistently pretty good read each month. I've been picking Axis up hoping it will get better but it just seems like one drawn out fight scene. Siege was the same thing but it was a lot more fun.

The art is improved with Yu's pencils rather than Andy Kubert's, but the third issue felt contrived and rushed and I'm just not seeing much it beyond a big slugfest. And Iron Man's so easily calling Sam "Cap" just doesn't feel right to me.

I was into Uncanny Avengers until this last Kang arc. It totally lost me with that one.
