I wonder, given your revelation, would it not be considerate / prudent to correct the title?
The USA already has a serious heart attack problem from obesity and bath salts abuse, let's not add misinformation regarding Besta availibilty to the list.

The BESTA are not being discontinued, but the TOMBO glass doors that everyone likes to use most definitely are being discontinued.
I was going to get BESTAs with TOMBOs before I found that out. Now I am just saving up for a PAX unit with custom acrylic instead of glass. Overall expensive, but provides more more space for PF statues than BESTAs.

They're still selling the Besta. I went to Ikea the other day and they were all over the place. I'm getting some for my collection soon.
I think the Detolf is the one they're discontinuing.

IKEA is discontinuing the EXPEDIT shelving system which apparently has a cult like following. I'm sure we'd have a similar situation with statue collectors if the Besta's or Pax's were discontinued. Lol.

they are discontinuing Tombo doors. They're making something similar though they told me.
It's gonna be a clear door with frost on it. Not sure what it's gonna look like though exactly..
