The Bolland covers on the original mini, I thought were quite cool and I loved the way Robin looked on them. I kinda think his vision sort of kicked-off the whole "new Robin look" thing that continues to this very day. Bolland made Robin look like a pissed-off 18 year old. The green slacks matured him into a "threat" catagory in the DCU.

Always liked the Green, to me it captured the old essence, just by giving him a more updated look. Also added in a little darkness, which is totally needed if your partner is BATMAN.

AS I am a fan of Dick in the original costume I do tend to have all my art commissions and etc in the First Tim Drake costume with the Full green leggings. I dont really like the new Robin costume dunno the tim drake one was at least a sorta homage to the original and the new one is off on its own...

I'm always surprised why it took DC that many decades to update Robin's look.
The red/green look is fine but it's the bare legs and stupid shoes thing: isn't it REALLY cold to be out like that?
The Tim Drake look is practical: dull green leggings and a dark green cape and boots, to offset the red tunic.

You're forgetting about the indispensible Bat-Thermal-Underwear, BTU for short. The question actually did come up in an issue of Teen Titans years back. He explained all about the BTU then said, yeah, he was freezing.
