Texas man blasts neighbors' intruders

Have you heard about this? Sorry if its been discussed already...

I dont have the actual article, but a Texas man observed some thugs breaking into his neighbors home and then leaving with merchandise.

He had 911 on the phone the whole time and he told the dispatcher he was going out to stop them and they guy told him, "No! Don't go outside the house!"

You hear the guy click his shotgun and run outside and you can hear the two blasts in the background of the phone call. He shoots them both in the back outside on his lawn...

A jury acquitted him of all charges and he's a free man, claiming self-defense.

What are your thoughts? Too much, or not enough?

Bah, they shouldn't be breaking into peoples houses.

If it were my house they broke into, I would want them dead.

I hope I have a neighbor like that when I have a house !

There was a similar case here in the Uk
Tony Martin shot and killed and intruder who had broken into his farmhouse.

Can't really remember the outcome though

The Uk justice system is balanced infavour of the culprit and not the victim though

I think this guy was sort of thoughtful about this kill. I appreciate his thinking on this event.

Everybody wouldnt be so smart though - and too many people with guns arent a good mix, because most people are morons.

I hear you, but he shot someone breaking into his neighbor's house, not his own...does this change your opinion?

Here's the 911 call...its entertaining...I love it. Especially the shotgun click and the two blasts...

I hate crooks.

Its ironic his name is Joe Horn - just like the Steve McQueen cowboy...

According to the Wikipedias:

Quote:
He was sentenced to life in prison, but on appeal this conviction was reduced to manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility, as the Courts accepted that Martin suffers from paranoid personality disorder. His sentence was reduced to five years, of which he had to serve three.

Aw man, this is classic. He blasts two guys, and then gets back on the phone. This is great.
