So far, so great on both Conan books currently being released by Marvel. The foundation book, Conan The Barbarian by Aaron & Asrar has been great so far, especially with its continuing thread, taking place both at the beginning & end of Conan's career with The Crimmson Witch. The sister book, The Savage Sword Of Conan has been equally impressive by Duggan & Garney. Bloody, fun, respectful stuff by both teams.

I must admit, I'm extremely curious to se how Marvel tackles the upcoming Conan' appearance in a modern Marvel tale with their Avengers, No Road Home mini-series which deals with Hercules & his Olympus roots. Not to mention, Rocket Raccoon, Vision, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch & a few more modern heroes.
I've always been appreciative of how Marvel, back in the day, & Dark Horse never mixed Conan with any of their other books except in the old What-If books. Coan's a stand-alone, imo, although I did love his Elric of Melnibone team-up back in the 70's. ANyway, I've been buying No Road Home just to see how Mavel pulls this off. Sofar, the book's been pretty good & we shall see if they muck things up with a Conan role.

Which, in turn will lead to this .....("gulp")

Jeez, Conan is an Avenger now? I've seen it all. Until NFL SuperPro & Planet Terry join the Avengers I guess.

Today's issue (3/6) of Aaron's Conan The Barbarian is the best stand-alone issue of Conan that I've read in years. It's a King Conan story & so very worth a pick-up. Excellent!

Ball dropped in the latest issue of Savage Sword Of Conan. The story is good. I'm enjoying it, but writer Duggan & artist Garney have Conan throw, what can only be described as a 1950's, New York City street type trash can at a group of soldiers upon entering the city of Kheshatta. "Huh?" Did they have trash cans like this during the Hyborean age? -

Finally, over in Avengers, No Road Home, Al Ewing's managed to roll ole' Conan into the regular MU. He's teamed Conan up with the Scarlett Witch as she's travled back in time to his age. It's sort of working, I guess. They almost made-out on one page. Oh well, I'll slowly get used to the idea of Conan in the word of Green Gobby.

Maybe you're right. It just looks like garbage is being ejected from the side that face-smacks the guy.
