As far as the comment "parents need to parent" goes, it sure sounds good but in reality many (most?) don't.
Yes and no.
I've been going to Toys R Us since a child. I continued into adulthood.
I've bought model kits (though that's pretty much gone now), diecast cars forever as I am a car guy, presents for nephews. Those high end FX lightsabers as I collect movie prop replicas. Adults may buy a gaming system and games obviously.

I buy NECA figures, those damn things are amazing sometimes.

"toys" are not just for kids. I may not actually play with them but collecting is legit reason adults go there. Why couldn't this mom just ask that collectibles that are a little questionable be put up on a high shelf or something? Problem solved.
It's not like porno figures are being sold.
A kid isn't going to have a clue who those Breaking Bad characters or Sons of Anarchy characters are anyways.

I"ve never even seen a kid looking at that kind of stuff. Seems no interest to me.

There used to be a toy store in a town close to ours, and it had an adult toy section in which you had to be 16 years old or older to go into without an adult. I don't think it was heavily enforced, but at least it was an effort. I thought it was interesting because they kept the Spawn action figures back there because of the disturbing imagery. They also kept the large breasted female wrestling figures back there...

They made an effort. I wish more stores would make that same effort.

And CessnaDriver, you are 100% right, toys are not just for kids. But Toys R Us is a store for kids. That is how they market themselves. Remember their old slogan "where a kid can be a kid" (before Chuck E Cheese stole it)? These come directly from the Toys R Us website...

Toys 'R' Us Mission Statement:

"Our Goal is to be the Worldwide Authority on Kids, Families and Fun."

Toys 'R' Us Vision Statement:

"Our Vision is to put joy in kids’ hearts and a smile on parents’ faces."

With that being said, I am going to stick with my statement that Toys R Us is a store for kids.

Well. They use language like "kids of all ages" and I don't think these are for children as an example.......

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...entPage=family
This item is only sold online and is not available in our stores

There DVD section has some rated R films...

This item is sold in our stores. Please check your local store for availability.

So they do play some games about what is sold in stores or not with adult material.

Honestly, some of the dolls that have been popular? Dear gawd.
Bratz? more like Slutz. I think that is far more damaging than any collectible figure could get.

It's bs. Lucky for me I don't have and now won't go to Toys r Us anymore. What does it say when you can get new Star Wars figures at a Target store, a store that pretty much sells everything, before an actual toy store.

Toys r Us used to be the place for toys. The stores were huge and had everything a kid could want. Whole aisles full of G.I. Joe, Transformers, bikes, videogames, etc. It was awesome. Something happened. Not just me getting older either.

And if you really want to understand how stupid this situation is, you can buy Grand Theft Auto from Toys r Us online and in stores. A game where you can shoot anyone, deal drugs, rob, pick up hookers, listen to swear words, and all kind of bad stuff. It's a big joke.

Taking the Breaking Bad figures out of the stores is like hardly keeping the store "kid friendly". This line was never meant for children - which is why they were in the adult collector aisles. So now we go back to "Parents need to parent" - all this woman had to do was pass by the figures which I'm sure her kids weren't interested in anyways.

If this Floridian mom thinks she actually solved anything by getting these figures taken off the shelves she must have a pretty pathetic life.
