I use my wife as a barometer as she knows nothing about comics.
She wouldn't know MJ by sight. She would know She-Hulk and Spider-Woman.
It's a tough question because there is no clear cut answer.

I agree that from the comics side it's definitely either MJ or Gwen, but from the movie side it's obviously Black Widow. Hope that Scarlett Witch puts on a good performance in Avengers 2.

So your choice is Wonder Woman then?

Exactly.

Heck Emma Frost has at least had a solo book. Jean has had a couple one shots and a co-mini series. That, and she tends to die for like 15 years at a time.

Carol Danver's or Black Widow are the only realistic characters that even compare to Wonder Woman, and their entire solo books put together doesn't equal 20 years of wonder woman's run

Yup. Poll was for who folks think of as pure "Marvel" in their female roster. It would be akin to Spawn for Image. TWD is a way bigger money maker for them right now but Spawn is the "flagship" character for the company.

In the late 70's and early 80's it was Spider-Woman. Spider-Woman was on all kinds of items: Cartoon, napkins, plates, frisbee, Happy meal toy boxes, flash lights, Slurpee cups, 7-11 games, damn near everything.

In the late 80's She-Hulk was the queen bee, but to a lesser extent.

Early 90's Storm was the big push. Even landing a major battle in the DC VS. Marvel Comic.

Now it seems that they have tried to push Ms. Marvel/ Captain Marvel.

Marvel has never had a real Marquee heroine but these are the ones that they tried to do. Jean Grey and Sue Storm has never been among their big push.

So as far as history on their side for the most exposure, it would be Spider-Woman.

I speak the truth.. If you ask me who is the most popular or known, I would say Storm.

This is a tough debate and even harder to conjure a poll to satisfy everyone. Matches made some nice choices but I do wonder if it's better to separate MJ and Gwen. Putting them together, you might as well call them interchangeable. And does that say something about their value as individuals?

And as much as I love Domino, and would buy her statue in a heartbeat, I think Psylocke is more worthy of a spot. Sorry Matches!

A tough poll. I'll have to mull it some more before voting.

It's interesting that Black Widow is doing so well. She would be my favourite marvel female but up until the movies i wouldn't have thought she was all that popular even though she has had her own comic on and off since the 60's. The movies have really improved both hers and Iron Mans standings in the whole MU. The Cap movies are going to have the same effect which will hopefully translate into healthier numbers reading his comic.
