i didn't see it but that does raise some interesting questions doesn't it. i bet this is like a drassic park kinda thing, and everything on this island is a test subject of somekind. i mean they had a polar bear on it for goodness sake. so far that is my theory. and i think the Others are just an experiment gone wrong.
what are some other theories?

I agree with a lot of you saying that this episode felt kind of like a rip off. They should of just done a 2 hour premiere episode. Oh well, at least next week it look pretty good, can't wait!!

From what I understand Walt "called up" the polar bear, right? Remember, we learned that his dad gave him a stuffed polar bear.

That's my theory as well. Walt is some kind of Summoner, like when the bird smashed into the window whil ehe was looking at a picture of it. The polar bear doll wasn't needed since Walt had already seen one in the Flash comic he was reading right after the crash.

I posted a somewhat of a half assed theory earlier in the thread.
Yeah I'm not a HUGE fan of Michelle Rod, she's a bit manly, but she didn't look too bad in this show.
