Before I really knew anything about custom framing I almost went to Michaels. Thank god I didn't. After a bit of research I discovered their work is really not up to the quality of other framers. If you don't believe me check out the numerous horror stories on EB.

As for coupons, most places use/run them consistently. I go to Beards and they always have some coupon going. Paying full price is ridiculous. I always wait until I have at least a 20% off coupon to burn. The highest Michaels discount is 30% though. Even after that its still damn expensive but the work is top notch.

I think I've mentioned Beard's Framing before; an excellent framing chain in the NW... my favorite being the one in my old little bubble of Eugene ...

I got a "repeat customer" discount there, and on top of it.. they also honored coupons I brought in.. sometimes adding up to almost 50% off, and this was a regular practice of mine. I miss those guys.

Got two Englerts framed up. Really happy with how they turned out.

Det er en Slags Ting
I wanted to maintain the cold feeling of The Thing print in the framing so I went with a blue/gray matte with a dark blue bevel and brushed metallic frame.

This is My Farm… I’ll Die Here
For the WD Farm print I wanted to keep it simple so I went with a black matte and the same brushed metallic frame as The Thing print since these will be hanging near one another.

Very classy, Scott. I like the choice in matte colors and the decision to go with thin frames. You kept the focus on the prints but complimented them very well. Mission accomplished.
