Pop Culture Shock Blanka Bust

I allways knew the blanka exclusive bust would be "in stock" again (and gift card eligible )

I'm a little worried about the possible end of that bust's line.

Sideshow still have the akumas in stock ...

On ebay I just see akumas unsold.

I just think people find it too expensive ...

As for me I am tempted by the exclusive Blanka I canceled earlier :-)

I think we can all agree that the Akuma bust is and was WAY over priced beyond those who are Street Fighter fanatics. But SS is just as responsible for the mark up. I bought my Akuma bust for $139 when it first came out from a third party online retailer. They still made a profit so that tells you that some demand a higher profit margin at the risk of slower sales.

I doubt the bust line will die off anytime in the near future. SS knows that as more busts come out, people will eventually want to get the entire line and for those that don't have the others, SS will be their only option until they eventually sell out. It happened to the SF PF's. Some took forever to sell out, but eventually they did. The busts will follow the same pattern and SS will get their higher profit on the remaining Akumas and Blankas. They are a big enough company that they can wait.

And as StatueHunter said, it really is an awesome bust. Lots of detail.

Yes Andrew, in fact I should' nt worried for sure you're right, time will tell as for the pf's, that was just a suddenly doubt

And I know that Blanka bust is awesome, I got the yellow one ;-)

Blanka as well. I was really disapointed w/the QC on the Akuma and the Blanka. For the price, the paints should have been nothing short of amazing. Had they been priced at under $100, I'd be annoyed by sloppy paints, but for something like this priced at well over $100?...I'm annoyed AND feel ripped off. There's just no excuse.

Damn, that's sad!
I sent my blue one back because of a huge blue drip of paint on the chest hair. I decided to simply return it instead of exchange it. Too bad, since it was a nice low #4! The past MANY SS pieces I've received were pretty dang high numbers. The one low number I get is defective!

I wouldn't worry to much about the bust line. Even though Akuma and Blanka did not sell out, there will be more bust to come. I patiently await Ken and Ryu to accompany my akuma bust and statues.


But honestly the price is the reason they didn't sell. everyone loves my Akuma busts, but the price is what gives them a heart attack. Again don't blame the Man, blame the distributor. $100 for the bust cool. Almost $175, forget it. Like wise with the SF PF statues $250-300, ok $325 and up forget it.
