I was reminded by someone on FB that these sales are scripted and staged - even still, though I realize it's somewhat fiction, selling that ManThing page was BRUTALLY low at that price.

And the storetried to buy that Tomb of Dracula #10 (first appearance of Blade) and a Kirby Thor posted from 1970 for like $175. Insane!!

Glad the guy kept the book at least.

caught the first half hour as theres literally nothing to watch in that half hour and i agree the guy got ripped on the manthing page, but i suppose getting your book into a fairly well known shop owned by a famous guy could totally even that out

The show is virtually unwatchable. Even bringing in Mewes this week didn't do anything (in fact, he was lame, too).

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

After watching the Walking Dead, I flip the channel. I don't wait for the sneak peek for the next WD episode by watching 15 minutes of Comic Book Men. Nope, nope, nope! That's 15 minutes of my life that I won't get back. I made more money selling my comics on Ebay than I would ever get from the various comic book stores where I live.

Even though I don't watch Talking Dead either, why is that show aired at 12 a.m./11 p.m. (Eastern & Central time) instead of airing it soon after the Walking Dead is finished?

Maybe they're after the post-local news late night talk show crowd?

They must really want CSM to do well, putting that right after WD, and bumping their own talk show to an even later time slot.

I had some high hopes for this show to possibly shine a positive light on comic shops (which really need it nowadays), but this show is doing the exact opposite. A bunch of unfunny cheapskates that are annoying as all get out ruining what could have been a good thing for our hobby. This show is more about Kevin Smith and his friends trying to do nothing but gain exposure for themselves rather than the hobby they love.

Scripted or not, Jason Mewes acted like an idiot; I'd rather watch two hours of that "Talking Dead" show than this sh!t, at this point.
It sucks, because you WANT to like it, since it pertains to our hobby.. but the employees are incredible shut-ins, let alone @ssholes to their "guests"/"customers".
They act like they're effin' 12 year-olds, and they're all in their early 30's (or 40's) or older, probably. Sad.
That store's a clusterf#ck. It's basically storage for Kevin's sh!t.

Oh.. and yeah, scripted or not... the guy I like the most is the Asian kid, because he seems the least fake.

You guys are a bit more forgiving than me... No way I'm watching anymore after that first episode.

Comics started becoming cool with all these awesome blockbuster movies coming out, taking it to mainstream pop culture. This show just knocked it back a couple steps... I hope not many people are aware of it.
