I think you guys are wrong. But I'll take a bust and put it in with a fish in a small tank and see. Or I'll just throw the idea out the window and make my wife happy. She can sell the Namor.

Nope, I've kept every type of tank you could imagine and I had the same idea (resin skulls, acrylic paint) and it poisoned the water, killing fish and ruining the piece(s).

If you can't boil them or acclimate the pieces for 'x' period of time (which you can't with a resin statue), then you are putting it in there with factory finishes and fixers that are toxic to the biological balance that you have achieved thus far.

You should start with a bust in a seamless glass and adhere it to the bottom of an empty tank with clear silicone, then place shells, gravel and plantlife around it. It will appear seamless and protect the fish and statue.

If you put a Namor FS in by itself, don't be surprised if there's a tiny paint flaw that makes his hair come up and start flapping in the current (yes, tanks have currents) like Trump's combover on a windy day. Then you'll know it's all over.

Here's a thread where Bowen statues were submerged in the basement full of water for a couple days and the paint and resin started bubbling.

I remember reading this thread about Bowen statues not being able to withstand being submerged in water. However, Sideshow statues appeared to fair much better under water. Your hubby might be better off getting the Sideshow Namor.

get a clear water sealant and give it a try. But as mentioned, it does depend on the type of fish. We used a sealant on a plastic planter and have used it as an outdoor fishtank for about four years. Some of the sealant has flaked off and the gold fish has tried to eat it but they just spit it out. Four years and none of the three have died.
