Hard not to. Both series were aired on pay cable channels. The subject matter, while different, shared similarities in both settings and style. Most importantly they both started airing in the month of April in effect competing with one another, albeit not directly. The comparison was unavoidable and probably played a part in why Camelot failed as it was obviously the weaker of the two on every level.

As for "how" you can compare them? You really can't for any other reasons than those I mentioned above. GoT is so much larger in terms of both scope and its layered form of storytelling. Camelot was much more straightforward and far less ambitious. Not to mention the story is simply a reinterpretation of a classic legend unlike GoT which is wholly fresh and original.

Soap opera? More a political game of chess v. highschool teen angst and drama.

I finally got around to watching this series yesterday. A day later and it is over... lol.

Man, such a good show. HBO has put out some quality shows the past few years, but I never contemplated paying for the service until now.

LUCK looks great. Amazing cast and I'll give anything Michael Mann has a hand in a chance.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Teaser looks great. Saw it before the finale of Boardwalk Empire. April can't get here soon enough.
