I will pass on this piece the more I look at it. It is taller than I had originally thought it would be but that is the real deal-breaker for me. I think that as a stylized Batman from the comics it does a good job. I just think that for me, I was hoping for a more realistic version of the comic book Batman from that that time. I don't know, it's easy to be on the side of the critic but in the end, there is a an incredibly talented team of people who are all joining ideas and concepts to create something that they feel is wonderful. And indeed it is, but again.......beauty is in the eye of the beholder.......and for me, this piece is cool and has more positives than negatives for me, but I was hoping for a 90's comic version with the grey and blue suit but just a little different looking is all. Can't exactly put my finger on it. The overly pointy ears are not a deal breaker nor is the hunched over pose and the more I think about it......, not even the lack of yellow oval (although I am very disappointed about that)....I think it's the cape and the bats and the bat placement, etc. Not too sure about them and their placement, especially on the right hand area. And the cape, although sculpted.......not too sure why it looks so heavy. I guess I have seen other sculpted capes and for some reason they don't look as heavy as this one does. Not sure.....
In any event, I do wish all of you well who get this piece. I think I will stick with my current Prime 1 Advanced Armored Batman from the Justice Buster still until that right classic grey/blue costumed Batman comes around.
Cheers all.

I still hope they will have another portrait but think its not likely. I'm liking this one more tho.

Yea, that video didn't help me understand what's going on with the cape either. Need to still see that.
But that video also didn't introduce new nit picks for me, so that's good. It did make the portrait look a lot better to me, but still hoping for another portrait
Right now, man, I'm leaning towards getting this. My first 1/4 classic Batman statue.

Well she says the bats are becoming one with the cape.
The bottom of the cape with the merged bats is nasty work enough, but I realized the bats on the right arm are literally materializing out of the cape, some of the wings are even blue as the bats form out of it. It’s like the cape is a symbiote that’s spawning bats. This cape is the love child of Venom and Spawn’s cape.
If the bats were at least reduced in number and downplayed to be normal instead of supernatural I’d consider getting this but the merged clusters of those things are really throwing me off.

Yea, the cape is one thing that I still need to see in full with this piece. I'm going to reserve final judgement on it until I can see the whole thing.
But I can see why the bats can be a weird thing for collectors. Seems there's always one thing or another with SSC Batman statues.

Sorry SSC, that's probably the worst Batman statue out there in concept and sculpt. It makes Canale look bad and he is not a bad sculptor in any way.
Taking inspirations from various Batman artworks and shuffling them together is just not a good way to come up with a convincing Batman statue.
It almost seems like SSC was rushing to make a new Batman statue and pushing it to the market without giving it any serious consideration.
It's like SSC saying "here is another Batman statue from us, happy?". Just don't know what is going on with SSC these days.

I still think Bat Chaps is the worst Batman PF.
It looks like Sideshow is trying to test the artistic boundaries with their pieces; stuff like this and "perspective bases" screams art direction. Unfortunately, they miss the mark, to me anyways.

See, to me, this is very reminiscent of many Batman covers. Which I know doesnt always translate to 3-D, but for me, it works.
Im not really in the market for it though.

Looks like the really furrowed brow is what partially blocked/made his eyes look far apart in the initial tease.
