Brief report + haul from STGCC

So STGCC just wound down today. Here's a very brief report and a small haul from the con.

We had the privilege of having Joe Mad, David Mack and Adi Granov attend our con this year. These 3 guys were my priorities for the con.

Saturday morning, I swung by David's and Adi's booths and managed to get on their lists. Around noon, Joe began signing for fans. Unfortunately for me, he was not doing even quick sketches (bummer) and I had to settle for his sigs on my old Uncanny X-Men comics.

David and Adi had brought some beautiful painted covers, which I wish I could have snagged. However, I had to settle for commissions though, as I'd spent quite a bit on a recent OA piece.

Having owned a number of Granov pieces, it was great to finally meet and thank Adi and Tamsin in person. Adi, Tamsin & David were genuinely nice and friendly, and it was a pleasure talking to them at the con.

Sunday morning, I caught up with Eisner award-winning Tan Eng Huat. Had a great chat with him and managed to pick up a nice page.

Wandered around for quite a bit and then on Sunday afternoon, after waiting patiently for David & Adi to wrap up my commission requests, I was very pleased to pick up some killer pieces from Adi (he never disappoints) as well as a sweet abstract piece from David (very unique ink brush work).

Also bumped into a few of the great guys on this forum. I know JMT had an insane haul and am looking forward to seeing that.

Without further ado, here are the highlights of my haul:

Granov Galactus: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryp...?piece=1047323

Granov Iron Man: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryp...?piece=1047322

Mack Elektra: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryp...?piece=1047324

Damn, baller! Two Granovs? Sheesh. That's how you do a con. Very nice.

Thanks

Iron Man was a pre-con set up via Facebook. The Galactus was an impulse request as Adi had a short list at the con itself

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
