Help with painting Spidey bust NOOB

I just finished my first sculpture and now I need to paint it.

Total noob here and need some advice...

I don't have an airbrush so I'll need to hand paint it.

I want to find a way to not hand paint all those webs.
Can I spray him black and then brush over with red? will the red cover over black or will it be muddy?

I would love some different opinions on the easiest way to achieve a cool look here. Oh and I want to paint with acrylics.

Thank you!

First off congrats on the sculpt it looks great!
As for painting the red over black, I would advise against it, red, yellow, white, etc. are a pain to get good coverage with anyway and awful to paint over black. I would paint him red first then careful paint in the black line work. Then you can just use to touch up the edges if you accidentally go outside the lines. Or, and this will take longer, you can paint him red then mask it all off and spray black into the cracks. Use either masking tape or silly putty.
Hope that sorta made sense and can help ya out!
