I'm kind of glad they're using the original GOTG for the film and not the modern incarnation of the team.
This also confirms Thanos as the main villain in Avengers 2.
Well, that's what I get for skimming the article. A mix of old and new may be the best way to go.

I love what Abnett/Lanning/Walker/Pelletier did with the the new team, but the old team were the original GotG, and a fun read as well... paying homage to both in the movie will be awesome. 
Both Thanos and the Badoon are no strangers to GotG (or Avengers, for that matter) storylines.

I really hope Marvel gets the rights to the Surfer back by the time Avengers 2 rolls around, especially if they're bringing in the cosmics. What's a Thanos movie without the Silver Surfer??

Dave has all of my pieces, so I can't post jack. I productively sold the last pups in my litter this morning, then have spent the remainder of the day "brainstorming" in my hammock, until my ensemble practice, which is about an hour from now...and derailing threads.  
Can't beat 80 degrees with a crisp Coastal breeze... and a few iced teas.
