My first guess of who did it was correct, but doubts from twists along the way actually had me surprised at the end when I was right. 6/10

Verdens verste menneske / The Worst Person in the World (2021) - The chronicles of four years in the life of Julie, a young woman who navigates the troubled waters of her love life and struggles to find her career path, leading her to take a realistic look at who she really is.
Other than two short fantasy sequences, this is a straightforward albeit very solid dramedy that's getting a lot of award recognition. 8/10

I was pleasantly surprised with this one, a sharp horror/thriller that kind of flew under the radar.

Collective (2019) - Director Alexander Nanau follows a crack team of investigators at the Romanian newspaper Gazeta Sporturilor as they try to uncover a vast health-care fraud that enriched moguls and politicians and led to the deaths of innocent citizens.
Another harrowing document of systemic corruption. Disgraceful. 8/10

News of the World (2020) - A Civil War veteran agrees to deliver a girl, taken by the Kiowa people years ago, to her aunt and uncle, against her will. They travel hundreds of miles and face grave dangers as they search for a place that either can call home.
This western has a little of everything: gunfights, indigenous people, Civil War soldiers, and the protagonist even hooking up with a female acquaintance. It gets my approval. 8/10

The Batman - 9/10 - spiritually it might be the most faithful live action attempt.
