yeah i was confused too. I thought they said they were having to change the bone horns to metal on that original head, but apparently they meant just the spike. I had to find a higher def pic of the painting but it does actually look like the horns are bone with a metal spike on top when you zoom close enough. Dont know if they switched the ex and reg around or not, but at least i think everything looks as it should- awesome

As I said, this quote is rather sensible and hopefully correct. BBTS once quoted me $750 for shipping the snake and slave girl part of the diorama.

If you check thread #264,[5/05/15] you will see the original horn/spike photos for both helms...I like these combinations better

^yeah i remember that one. The reason for the change was it was what the Frazettas wanted. Im guessing there was a miscomunication between them back then and they ended up with just the spike change. Just a guess...

something like that... essentially what the change was though iirc was that the regular helmet (darker one) is now with the metal horns and the silver colored one is the bone horns.

I'm a bit gutted to see the excessive use of paint in some areas of the ringmail (under the head for example)...you can't see the rings anymore!

Looks like the chainmail didn't survive the casting process.
