Does this sound like a lot to you?

I realize this is a vintage page, however, does the price strike anyone as remarkably high? Is this where the market is now? I ask because I haven't really seen many pages from this era with this asking price. Maybe it's just me. I can see the page maybe going for a third of the price to a truly devoted fan with very deep pockets... However, 150k seems like holey moley land, at least to me.

I've purchased items off this seller before and he always seemed nice and was always open to making a deal or accommodating reasonable payment plans. Maybe it's just me but his prices generally seem to set new bars on a regular basis. By this time next year, he may price that page at 200k. The year after, 300k. I wonder what type of art market he frequents, especially in this day and age, to substantiate (or manufacture?) such a consistent healthy rise in value?

He's had that splash at that price since 7/09. He's just waiting for the right buyer to come along.

Quality pieces when priced correctly tend to sell rather quickly.

I'd buy it for about 40K. But 150K is just insane.

From what I've seen being sold out there, it seems about right. It's insane what some pieces are being sold for. I know someone who won't be buying it. Although there's usually a buyer out there for just about everything.

What have you seen being sold in the 150k range?
How many examples of this nature are there?

I'd like to see what the 2 offers were!

I think that page is a piece of comic history. A real treasure. Why not put it at a ridiculous price and see what happens. He probably is not in any hurry to sell it. I'd love to see that in person.

Well think of it this way - how much would a mint copy of that comic go for? And how many copies of it existed? This is a one of a kind milestone page.

Hell didn't a comic just sell for 1 million dollars?

That doesn't convince me it's worth 150k :P BUT it helps me understand the thinking behind the price.

Sadly, I'll never be in a position to decide if it's worth MY 150k....lol
