Even though I'd like to see DC's TV and film universes be cohesive it actually makes sense to have all their mediums separate. It certainly allows for more creative freedom. Either way its a good time to be a fan of DC.

Sounds like it's a step backwards for the fans. Let's establish 3 years of TV Flash continuity then ask us to forgot all we know when the film comes out.

I don't see that any differently from Nolans three Batman movies and the new universe. You don't have to forget about them it's just different.

It's funny how times change. Back before the Nolan Batman films came out there was supposed to be a series focusing on young Bruce Wayne and the years he spent training to become Batman. DC didn't want that to dilute the brand and take away from the upcoming films so they changed it to Smallville and focused on pre-Superman Clark Kent. Now they obviously have no problem having two different universes going on at the same time.

I don't know if it was the same (whispered legend)project, or two separate ones but Bruce Wayne was also supposed to be pastor Smallville but in the desire to not dilute what Nolan was doing he was replaced by Oliver Queen.

Any chance they will also recast the role?
