Opinions? Having another artist go over an another artist's work

Ever get a commission that didn't turn out right? and for some reason or another you want to try salvaging it?

how bad of a faux pas is it to get another artist to go over that artists work to try and salvage it?

i have a scenario where the work turned out to what appears to be somewhat work in progress-ish. should i leave it be or try to have someone like an inker give it a fix?

I have a pencil commission that I'd thought about getting inked, but after asking several artists at MCCC what they thought, I got a mess of mixed responses.

Some thought the mistakes in the pencils could be corrected and manipulated into a stylized art style.

Some thought it was beyond help and advised against having it inked.

Others felt it needed redrawing in addition to inking.

Based on that, I probably won't be doing bothering with it after all. But that's just my personal experience. Your situation might be different.
