as of this issue, WORD. THe deodato run was kinda sucky, but this new arc is firing on all cylindars if this first issue is any indication.

jdh, looking forward to your feelings on this issue, know you got much old school love in you...

I actually dig that a lot; even before Superman Returns when Lee Bermejo was the only one doing it. I don't care for the leather suit he gives him, but I do love the elevated emblem; in fact I've always drawn Superman with a 3D chest emblem; Superman's suit is one of the simplest in comics, little details like that make it a little more interesting. Since he has no patterns the only thing you can play with are his belt, chest emblem and boots

A few don't care for his art, but I think it's great. It has a bit of a cartoony style but he draws great women, great explosive action scenes, and plenty of detail.

joe, you ever read wolvie/hulk scorpio connection back in the day? Chaykin not as crisp as he is now, but it was still pretty cool...

I like his sound effects as well...

bullseye I think his artwork is very stylistic. It could turn people either way. I like his style, and am upset I didn't get hawkgirl.

though I have a notion to go to an lcs and pick up hawkgirl, ff, and new avengers

Just to be clear i was referring to Deodato's Art. I loved his covers on the Bullseye Greatest Hits series.

deodato is either hit or miss. His internal pages of New Avengers in this last run have been mediocre at best, but like you said bulls, his covers can be awesome, and I also liked his internal art back in the day on Wonder Woman, and his Tigra series was good as well. His recent work on the hulk, kinda sucky.

Deodato's internal work on Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man and, now, New Avengers was down-right poor in my opinion. His covers are so much better. Almost like he's a different artist. His recent New Avengers art looked rushed and sloppy.
