Clay and his brother Paul hand painted most of the 50 themselves. Some were painted at the factory, I am sure Paul painted yours. They were prototypes for testing a factory in China, hence the different costumes. That is why they are so rare, you better hang on to that one....you may end up retiring on it when Clay retires from sculpting.

I guess before Clay started doing comic related stuff he did fine arts, of which one is Ronin.

Enjoy!

Here is the Ronin Bronze # 13 of 15, it won several awards at international art show, this one Clay told me to insure for $2800.00 it was a gift from him for our wedding.

This is a bronze piece I did while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in my early twenties. Skulpturens unkind and somewhat ignorant comment notwithstanding, it was a very early piece that helped me learn a lot about anatomy and a piece which was a benchmark for me at the time. I was working in a more stylized approach back then and this piece began to break away from that. It was a rare piece to find and I'm glad you've added it to your collection.

You're being too modest, that's an awsome piece, got one of the best human anatomy I've ever seen.

I don't see anything wrong with the piece personally - I think its a great sculputre and just proves to me that Clay, in my opinion, could start doing some original designs as well as the licensed stuff.

I like how it looks as though he it training in water...maybe a warm Japanese spring... at least that is what I imagine.

Very nice piece! Congrats on owning it!

Bronze is the my favourite material...
