I know it's been a long while but for those of you who own this were there any initial production issues or qc issues any info would help tremendously as I have started to look for this piece.

I don't believe there were any issues with these, though I know the first batch (not sure how many) had clear water on the base and the laters ones (mine included) have like a mud swirl effect in the water. Both are cool but you might prefer one over the other, luckily I prefer the the mud swirl effect as it gives the feeling of movement in the water.

Yes - there were production QC issues.

Damages both prior to packing and caused during shipping.

Including (but not limited to) snapped & missing quills, shrunken leather, bad QC on casting cleanup, bad QC on paintwork, badly cast nameplate section on base.

When lifting him out of the box, lift from the body. This is where quill breakage is most likely to occur.

The weight will take you by surprise.
